Brian Calle is the opinion editor of the Southern California News Group, overseeing opinion content for its 11 newspapers and websites including The Los Angeles Daily News, The Orange County Register, The Riverside Press-Enterprise, Daily Breeze in Torrance, Long Beach Press-Telegram, Pasadena Star-News, San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Whittier Daily News, Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, The Sun in San Bernardino and Redlands Facts.
He is also editor-in-chief of CalWatchdog.com, a Presidential Fellow and professor at Chapman University and was co-host of Fox 11’s “You Decide: SoCal” weekly news broadcast.
Prior to his current professional endeavors, Brian was the Director of Sales and Marketing for Sally Ride Science where he worked under noted Astronaut and CEO Sally Ride.
He later worked as vice president of the Claremont Institute; worked as a congressional aide in the United States House of Representatives; and has also taught undergraduate students at California State University, Los Angeles and California State University, Fullerton and a graduate course at Pepperdine University.
Brian holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Communications and Political Science from the University of Southern California and California State University, Los Angeles, respectively. And he is an emeritus member of the Board of Governors for the University of Southern California.

Barney joined UCI Alumni in the fall of 2014 with a mandate to work collaboratively with campus leaders and alumni volunteers to ideate a new vision to support the ambitions of UCI. Prior to UCI Barney worked in alumni relations and before that development at the University of British Columbia, Canada’s second largest and preeminent University. While at UBC Barney was Co-Lead on www.startanevolution.ca Canada’s largest and the world’s first dual goal Campaign for a University. The goal of doubling alumni engagement was met a year early and the campaign will meet its financial goal of raising $1.5 billion on schedule in 2015.
Prior to UBC Barney worked as a fundraiser for a number of large organizations as well as being a partner in a fundraising consultancy for three years. When not at work Barney has been a very active volunteer at the local and national levels and has been recognized by the Prime Minister of Canada for his impact. Downtime is spent rowing competitively, skiing, boating and exploring the world with his husband.
Mike Gray is the Director of Franchise Operations at UFC Gym and has been with the organization since 2009. Mike will be one of five presenting speakers during the “Innovative Circuit Training” and will share the importance of physical activity as a secret to success in leadership. Specifically, Mike will focus on UFC’s unique approach to working out through the practice of martial arts and how this particular form of physical activity can lead to a winning mentality.
Mike holds a bachelors degree from San Diego State University in Kinesiology.
Kayla Graney, M. Communication Studies is a dynamic executive coach with over a decade of experience in helping leaders and their teams create meaning in their own lives and in their organizations. Her assertive approach to collaborative communication results in motivated employees, customer commitment and bottom-line performance.
Kayla has worked with some of the most influential business owners, CEO’s, and politicians in Southern California providing them with the tools that have led them to success. As a Communication Studies professor, she has developed a strong intuition for reading people’s nonverbal communication. She applies her expertise in helping clients open their perspectives, allowing them to bring their ideas to light. Kayla’s coaching philosophy begins with establishing a foundation for each client in clarifying personal and professional values and goals as well as creating a long-term vision.
Kayla is also the CEO and Founder of Carpe Diem Media Productions, a special event photography and videography company and the Co-chair of Future Leaders of Our Community, a professional bridge-building group partnered with over 350 nonprofit organizations. She is regarded for her coaching in corporate leadership, elevator pitch’s, team building and presentation skills.
Kendra began her career in non-profits at CASA of Orange County in 2005, after graduating with a B.A. in History and Political Science from Vanguard University. She continued her career in fundraising as Director of Development at The Raise Foundation and Orange County United Way, which eventually led to her role as Executive Director with Developments in Literacy (DIL), an international non-profit focused on educating girls in Pakistan.
Kendra is passionate about connecting people, especially to causes that matter to them. She has worked with hundreds of volunteers and supporters of non-profits over the years and finds joy in watching each individual find meaning and personal fulfillment through giving back to their community.
Her educational background and travels abroad have fostered an interest in international relations and a desire to understand people of different cultures and experiences. She has travelled to China, Brazil, Egypt, Lebanon, Israel/Palestine and Jordan. She believes that living in a global society means that all of our fates are connected by a common thread. Her personal life mission is to lend her voice to those whose voices go unheard, whether they reside in her backyard or on the other side of the globe.
Kendra is a member of the Junior League of Orange County, FLOC and the World Affairs Council of Orange County.
An entrepreneur, brand builder, and management consultant, Gianelle Veis is Founder of The Opportunista, a digital education platform that helps aspiring and early-stage women entrepreneurs develop business ideas from concept to company. Throughout the past 15 years, Gianelle has developed her extensive business and innovation background by helping startups, nonprofits, and Fortune 500 clients solve their toughest problems, develop strategies for long-term success, create their robust marketing and communications programs, cultivate their unique brands to deliver real value, and innovate their way to global acclaim. Prior to her career in corporate America, Gianelle worked in nonprofit where she led the design of global incentive programs to crowdsource exponential change to benefit humanity. She has served as a guest lecturer and speaker on career development, innovation, crowdsourcing models, and social entrepreneurship at universities, such as UCLA and USC. Gianelle’s motto: “Why work for your dream company when you can create it?”
Shawn Wehan is life-long resident and philanthropic leader in the Orange County community. After graduating from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, Shawn spent several years in youth and adult ministry leading conferences and teaching throughout Orange County. In 2009, Shawn founded Future Leaders of Our Community (FLOC), a young professional organization aimed at building the bridge between the nonprofit world and the Millennial Generation. After partnering with 350 charities, Shawn Co-Founded Givsum, Inc., a universal philanthropic platform designed to be the “giving summary” of individuals, charities and businesses. Alongside his work as a the Executive Director of FLOC and CEO of Givsum, Shawn is a sought after executive coach guiding numerous organizations and individuals to success. When he’s not working, Shawn spends his free time surfing, sailing and inspiring his friends to use their gifts and talents to make a difference for others.
Jonathan White is a highly motivated senior project manager with twelve years of experience planning, tracking, and executing global operations. Extensive leadership expertise directing teams ranging from 4 to 400. Budget management proficiency forecasting, developing, and executing fiscal plans in the $100,000 to $1,000,000 range. Relationship management with senior U.S. and Coalition partners including training, mentoring, and facilitating collaboration.
Currently, Jonathan is the Deputy Director for 5th Battalion, 14th Marines, a 900-member matrix organization composed of five divisions and four primary functional areas: administration, operations, logistics, and communications.
Primary responsibilities include management of day-to-day operations, as well as long range planning to synchronize operations and logistics to achieve multiple major projects and deployments on time and on budget.
Eron Zehavi is a socially conscious entrepreneur, advisor and investor, working towards a happier, healthier, and more compassionate world. He is the Co-Founder of #Cantdonothing and Founder/CEO of WellNest. He is also the Founder and CEO of Servicate, powering job creation in the Service Economy through On-Demand platforms. Prior to Servicate he was the Co-Founder and Chief Rewards Officer of Swagbucks, the web’s largest and most engaged social rewards and loyalty platform. Eronis also a passionate vegan, sitting on the Advisement Board of the Good Food Institute, KarmaKarma and the Food Revolution Network.
